Words could not convey the joy of mother Sophia from Liberia when her desperate prayers to God were answered. CFE provided a one year scholarship for her son to attend Kingdom School in Liberia. On hearing the news she could only run back and forth from the school to her nearby home screaming and chanting, her face littered with tears of gratitude and relief.

In Liberia, women like Sophia work hard all day selling donuts and other traditional items, but earn less than $1.00. Schooling for just one child would be one third of her annual income. Ravaged by war, poverty and HIV/AIDS, countries like Liberia, Burkina Faso, Congo and Togo are without the social infrastructure to provide free education.  The situation is worse in the rural areas where most of the populations reside and where available school places are limited even for those who could afford it.  For individuals and families, many of whom are caring for additional children orphaned by HIV/AIDS, this contributes to persistent poverty, hunger, illiteracy and hopelessness.  For communities and states this contributes to a death of ideas and visionary leadership needed to transform dire conditions. Investing in education is our way of helping our brothers and sisters in these countries learn to fish and so conceive of a brighter future.  Our work directly with schools and orphanages aims at securing their sustainability, improving their quality of education, and enhancing their support to the families of the children under their care.  As such we are convinced that through this modest investment of $100.00 per year per child and our partnership with local institutions, we seed the production of amazing citizens and leaders, we change their world one child at a time. The task at hand is a huge one and CFE is a mustard seed of faith in this vision of transformation, one child at a time.  You too can be a part of this investment of love, you can help us communicate the love of Jesus and bring these children to Him through knowledge that would unlock the creativity and talents that Christ has gifted them with.
