Our intent is to start small, the mustard seed, to establish long term relationships with local leaders and the children they are serving though CFE. We intentionally grow slow to assure that we are all accomplishing our parts in a way honoring to God and each other.
CFE is a channel of love in the form of education support to children around the world who lack the resources to unlock the talents, abilities and potential within.
Our approach recognizes the inner resources of each child. We believe that an education will stimulate creativity, inspire confidence, and ignite their capacity to design a better future. CFE is committed to providing a solid educational foundation for these children. By forming partnerships with local organizations around the world we can improve the reach and quality of educational opportunities. The provision of a yearly scholarship, US$100.00, will adequately cover the schooling needs of each individual child. Once we obtain information on a child in need our goal is to provide this scholarship annually until he/she graduates from high school.
We work under the guidance of the local church, New City Fellowship, through volunteers that give of their time and resources to ensure very minimal overhead costs. This allows every dollar that is given on behalf of the children goes to fund their education.
Core Values and Vision of New City Fellowship Church
Through relationships we have build right here in Saint Louis with our brothers and sisters from around the world, most of which have come to us as refugees, the journey begins.
A country is chosen based on these relationships built in our home community. We begin the process of making contact with those on the ground, share the vision of CFE with them and ask how this vision will work best in their context. A leadership team from Saint Louis consisting of a representative of CFE and our pastoral staff take a trip to visit the newly formed CFE. The goal is to learn from each other, walking together in the Gospel, to understand their circumstances firsthand, to continue to solidify the vision of care for the orphan and to ensure integrity in the financial process. Once a team is in place, they begin the process of signing up children that they deem most in need of educational funds.
Once approved the funds are released to the local team to distribute to the schools the children will attend. From here we receive yearly updates on the children, receipts for distributed funds, budgets and requests to add additional children keeping with our desire to continue reaching children for the Kingdom of God.
Our primary source of funding is you, the local church. By attending events, hosting meals and creatively seeking ways to raise awareness and funds to make education a reality for the children that lack the ability to receive an education.
